Greenhouse Nitrogen Emission from Wastewater Treatment Operations – Interim Report (U4R07a)
This project characterizes nitrogenous greenhouse gas emissions from the activated sludge portion of wastewater treatment plants and determines the pathways for nitrous oxide generation and emission. It is the first U.S. study to measure nitrous oxide emissions from bilogical nutrient removal processes at multiple wastewater treatment plants and different process configurations.(PDF Only)
