Publications

WERF research produces publications and other products that provide tangible value to our subscribers and the larger water quality community. The results of our research promote the next generation of science and technology through cost-effective solutions that help to address some of the most pressing environmental challenges.

Featured Products
02-CTS-3, Innovations in Dewatering Sludges
The objective of this project was to produce both an applied and fundamental understanding of how to improve sludge dewatering.

04-CTS-3T, Evaluation of Bacterial Pathogen and Indicator Densities After Dewatering of Anaerobically Digested Biosolids: Phase II and III
The results from this research support the conclusion that the sudden increase in FC and E. coli after dewatering followed by regrowth during cake storage occurs at some plants, but found no evidence of a comparable increase in pathogens.

04-DEC-2, Overcoming Barriers to Evaluation and Use of Decentralized Wastewater Technologies and Management
This study identifies the important factors that affect whether engineers equitably consider decentralized wastewater treatment options.

04-CTS-1, Minimization of Odors and Corrosion in Collection Systems, Phase I
Presents the results of a comprehensive literature review and assessment. Focuses on the odor and corrosion approaches, strategies, challenges, and successes and failures as described in both open peer-reviewed and gray literature.
