Obtaining WERF Publications

Subscribers
Each WERF subscribing organization is generally entitled to one complimentary copy of a publication. WERF usually provides the complimentary copy to the first person requesting the publication at each subscribing organization. Exceptions to this rule might include, but are not limited to, cooperative research efforts, software and online tools, and other limited-availability publications.

Additional copies are available to subscribers for $10 - $15 each. Prices for software vary and are based on additional costs, including licensing, upgrading, support, and other expenses. Subscribers can purchase bulk copies (25 or more) at WERF’s cost.

Non-Subscribers
Non-subscribers can purchase most WERF publications for $50 for electronic downloads (PDF) and $70 - $175 for hardcopies. Prices for software vary and are based on additional costs, including licensing, upgrading, support, and other expenses.

Many WERF publications are also available to non-subscribers through Water Environment Federation or IWA Publishing.

General Public
WERF encourages any member of the public interested in purchasing a WERF publication to contact WERF directly with requests.

Universities
When an instructor purchases more than 10 publications to use as a teaching tool, WERF will charge the at-cost-rate plus postage and handling. For any quantity fewer than 10, WERF charges the non-subscriber rate.

Cooperative Projects
For WERF-produced project publications, the first copy is free to subscribers. Additional copies are provided at cost. For project publications produced by a cooperative organization, copies are available to WERF subscribers only. Subscribers are entitled to one copy of limited-availability project publications.

Mailing
WERF publications are mailed via First Class Mail and UPS Ground delivery. If the requester asks for faster delivery, WERF will, at the requester's expense, send publications via FedEx or UPS using the requester's FedEx or UPS account number. Shipping costs can also be charged to the requester’s credit card.

Portable Document Format (PDF)
Although most publications are available in hardcopy, WERF encourages electronic purchase of its publications. WERF offers almost all of its publications in electronic PDF format.

Ordering Information
WERF encourages orders placed through its website. Obtain additional information by emailing werf@werf.org or calling 703-684-2470. Orders can also be faxed to 703-299-0742.
