COLLABORATION ON ENERGY RESEARCH FOR THE WASTEWATER SECTOR

The World Bank Group
Water Environment & Reuse Foundation

In 2014, the World Bank Group (WBG) contracted WE&RF to conduct a multi-faceted study on energy management for water and wastewater utilities in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region (Agreement No. 7171721/WE&RF Project No. WERF1T14). WE&RF collaborated with the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, and Natural Systems Utilities in New Jersey to complete this research. The study included several reports, eight case studies in and applicable to the LAC region, an international workshop held at ACODAL’s Congreso in Santa Marta, Colombia, a Spanish-language webinar, and a technical experts meeting at the WBG in Washington, D.C. The study was part of the WBG’s work in the LAC water and wastewater sector to collect information and improve the successful implementation of energy management programs in the region.

Published research reports and presentations for the Energy Management for Water Utilities in Latin America and the Caribbean (WERF1T14) project include:
