Video Features WERF's Co-Digestion of Organic Waste  with Wastewater Solids Research

More on This Research

This short video features WERF's Co-Digestion of Organic Waste with Wastewater Solids (No. OWSO5R07) research. It highlights the benefits of co-digestion (or the addition of other organic wastes to anaerobic sludge digesters), to fully utilize existing assets – whether that is using the excess capacity in the anaerobic digester or in biogas combined heat and power equipment.

Various organic wastes have significantly different characteristics than wastewater solids. These differences impact anaerobic digestion and could affect anaerobic digestion process stability, the rate of biogas generation, conversion of organic matter and other aspects of anaerobic digestion performance.
