Request for Proposals

WERF funds water quality research on behalf of its subscribers, and facilitates collaboration among organizations seeking funding partners for high-priority issues. WERF awards funding through a competitive process and coordinates funding under contract through a staff-assigned program manager. All qualified entities — including international organizations and disadvantaged business enterprises — are encouraged to submit research proposals.

Unsolicited Research

WERF will accept pre-proposals under its 2013 Unsolicited Research Program in late spring of 2013. WERF is offering funding for pioneering research that significantly advances our understanding of today's most pressing water quality issues and provides practical solutions to the challenges facing wastewater and stormwater programs. WERF will also consider proposals that take existing research to the next level of completion. Notice will be provided in WERF’s Laterals and on this website when the solicitation is available.
