LIFT Strategic Planning Meeting
WERF and WEF held a strategic planning meeting for LIFT in early September at DC Water. The overall goal of the meeting was to discuss how to best organize, coordinate, and activate the full range of water industry organizations to accelerate the pace of development and implementation of new water technologies and processes. About 50 representatives from public agencies, industries, consulting firms, universities, technology providers, and federal agencies including EPA, DOE, and NSF participated in the meeting. Small and large group discussions explored potential future programs, activities, partnerships, and how best to engage all key water sectors in a collaborative innovation approach. The LIFT leadership and WERF/WEF staff are in the process of distilling and incorporating the meeting discussion and outcomes into a draft strategic framework for LIFT 2.0. WERF and WEF will share the draft framework with the LIFT Working Group and other key stakeholders for additional feedback and discussion of priorities prior to finalizing.
