REPORT DESCRIPTION:

In 2010, WERF, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and the Water Research Foundation conducted a workshop to identify research needs that can help water sector practitioners develop climate change adaptation strategies for water supply, wastewater, and stormwater management. Over 80 researchers and practitioners discussed five topic areas: flooding and wet weather, water quality, coastal zone management, water supply and drought, and the water-energy nexus, focusing on the key decisions that utilities need to make - that may be climate sensitive - on infrastructure and water resources that are long-lived and costly investments. The outcome of the workshop, including approximately 50 research needs of high value for decision support, is presented in this report. Published by WERF and the Water Research Foundat
