REPORT DESCRIPTION:

The goal of this research was to pair a comprehensive literature review with field aerosol sampling to characterize aerosols emitted during the land-application of Class B biosolids and provide a simplified framework for evaluating exposure to onsite workers and offsite residents. The research confirms the use of a simple transport model to estimate downwind biosolids bioaerosol concentrations and proposes a framework for estimating onsite worker and offsite resident toxin or pathogen exposure while minimizing the expense and difficulty of biological or chemical aerosol measurements. Published by WERF. 170 pages. Soft cover and online and PDF. (2007)
